Mommy... can I tell you something? Our pick up locations
A few months ago my daughter, 11 at the time came up to me with big crocodile tears falling down her face. She asked me if she could tell me something - of course I wanted to know what was upsetting her so much - she said "Mom, I think I have amnesia". Well - it took everything in me not to burst out laughing. I asked her what made her think she had amnesia - she turned around and lifted her pajama top ever so slightly and pointed to a large red spot that she had been scratching...at that point I felt free to let the belly laugh out...I explained to her that it was eczema and that amnesia would mean that she only forgot the real word for that irritating red spot on her back.

When I had my daughter Isabella, my nephew Riley would come over often to see her, he was only 2 1/2 years old. And in being there he would witness me pumping bottles
manually with a breast pump. Him being a curious boy would watch and stare and ask what I was doing I would say "Filling up the bottle with Milk for Isabella", he thought about this for awhile and then eyeing me drank his sippy cup of milk back and brought me the cup and said "FILL IT UP AUNTIE!!". My sister, my mom and I laughed about this forever. True Story!

We were sitting at the supper table one night and my son Jaden who was 4 at the time started getting silly and was farting at the table. To get the children settled because there was laughing and potty talk going on I said "Jaden you need to use your manners that is rude to do that at the supper table." Much to my surprise he stood up on his chair and said "Can I PLEASE fart at the table?" That was it~~~we were all laughing at that point!
Jaden is now 6 and continues to use his manners!!

John:
Mum, have you seen the first Ratta movie?
Mum: The first? This is the only one I know of.
John: But this is Ratta-Twoee! (now you have to say this in that tone that lets you know VERY clearly that you are the one being not smart!)

John is 5-years-old and started kindergarten in Spruce Grove. He has an older sister Dannielle and a younger brother, Eric. His favourite game is Pikachu.

Oscar and I play a sweet game of “I love you more” before bedtime. I say, “I love you more than there are stars in the sky” and he’ll say “I love you more than there are fishes in the sea!” This game goes on for about 15 minutes and eventually gets goofy. One night, after telling me he loved me “more than there are hairs on daddy’s chest” he held my face and said, “Mommy, I love you more than I love to laugh.” And for the record, my hubby has about six hair on his chest!

Oscar, 5, started Kindergarten in September. He loves Batman, playing Mario Kart, dancing in the middle of stores and hugs from his baby sister Lauryn.

One of the cutest things I am seeing from our 5-year-old son, Ethan, is how he wants to be like his father. For example a few nights ago we were sitting on the deck and he climbed up on his dad’s lap who at the time was wearing shorts. Ethan said to his dad “Dad when I get big I’m going to have fur like you right” – I laughed so hard I cried.
Ethan is the big brother to Ty, 3, and Ella, 8 months.

Recently I gave my little girl, Maya, a set of brand new pencil crayons. I really didn’t expect the amount of enjoyment that she would get from these additions to her craft collection. Maya also immensely enjoys cutting paper and stealing Mommy’s tape to make all sorts of creations. One day when I was feeling particularly tired, and somewhat annoyed by the scattering of cut paper triangles
under my kitchen table, Maya came to me with a gift. She had cut a rectangle and had drawn a happy girl on it with a big smile. She had made me a “bestest girl ever badge”, which she promptly taped to my shirt. Needless to say, I have tucked this little treasure away, and the recollection of her gift that day still warms my heart. I guess missing tape and snippets of paper aren’t such a bad thing after all.

Maya is four years old and attends Westridge Wolfwillow Playschool in west Edmonton. She is a big sister to Noah, a 16-month old boy who insists on getting into everything. She loves crafts, reading, Spiderman, and playing with Noah.

My girlfriend Lana and her daughter were changing in the change room after swimming and Mariah asks her quite loudly (and again they often change in front of each other, so why this particular moment was beyond Lana) “Mommy, why does your ‘Gina (her version of vagina) have a mustache?” Lana said she could have died and told Mariah to hush up. I myself would have burst out laughing!
Lana is the mom of two boys and a curious little girl!
